About me

I’m an award winning (and losing) journalist and editor. I prefer they/them pronouns.

I have over a decade’s experience writing for publications such as The Guardian, CNN, New Internationalist, VICE, Thomson Reuters, BBC News, Al Jazeera, Dazed and TIME Magazine. I write news, features and investigations, as well as taking photos and producing documentaries and social media videos.

Feminism is central in my work, and I have covered gender issues in South America, Western Europe, South Asia and across Africa, particularly Uganda where I lived for 5 years. Since June 2025 I have been investigating the anti-gender movement in the UK for Good Law Project.

I have also investigated disinformation, digital rights and the harms of the Big Tech industry in my work for the Citizens, Eco-Bot.Net and People vs Big Tech.

Before journalism, for four years I worked in communications and campaigns for anti-corruption group Transparency International.

For much of 2022-23 I was on long term sick leave, but I have been back in action since mid-2024. I’ll write about it one day.
