About me
I’m an award winning (and losing) journalist and editor focused on social justice and human rights. I prefer they/them pronouns.
I have close to ten years experience(!) writing for publications such as The Guardian, CNN, New Internationalist, VICE, Thomson Reuters, BBC News, Al Jazeera and TIME Magazine. I write news, features and investigations, as well as taking photos and producing documentaries and social media videos.
Feminism is central in my work, and I have covered gender issues in South America, Western Europe, South Asia and across Africa – particularly Uganda.
I have also investigated disinformation, digital rights and the harms of the Big Tech industry in my work for the Citizens, Eco-Bot.Net and People vs Big Tech.
Before journalism, I worked for close to four years for anti-corruption NGO Transparency International.
For much of 2022-23 I was on long term sick leave, but I have been back in action since mid-2024. I’ll write about it one day.

Current projects
Investigative Journalist, Good Law Project
Since June 2025 I have been working full time for the Good Law Project in the UK, reporting on stories affecting minoritised communities. I am particularly focused on investigating the war on transgender people.
